IT&E the first to launch Tarana G1 next-generation fixed wireless technology island-wide to provide fiber-like internet speeds

Harmon, Guam – October 14, 2024 – IT&E - a leading telecommunications provider in Guam and the Marianas - announced it is the first provider in Guam to deploy Tarana’s G1 broadband solution.  This next-generation fixed wireless access (ngFWA) technology allows IT&E to deliver fiber-class speeds to residential and business customers without trenching or drilling and it enables IT&E to overcome coverage issues caused by difficult terrain, trees, and other obstructions. Residential and business customers will be able to enjoy upgraded speeds at affordable rates without long wait-times for installation.

Residents in Central and Northern Guam will be the first to enjoy the upgraded experience. Meanwhile, efforts continue to deploy ngFWA sectors all throughout Guam to bring enhanced connectivity island wide in the next three months, a feat that includes coverage to over 50,000 households.

Using 5GHz, 6GHz, and CBRS spectrums, IT&E can provide high-speed internet in areas where it was previously unavailable due to challenging line-of-sight conditions.
