IT&E opens text-to-donate line for aid following Super Typhoon Yutu

HARMON, Guam — The devastating winds of Super Typhoon Yutu ripped the roofs off of homes, uprooted trees, and brought down power lines in Saipan and Tinian.

As residents confront damaged homes, lost personal belongings, and the trauma of surviving a major disaster, any effort to help can make a difference.

IT&E has opened a text-to-donate line for its Guam subscribers to support Super Typhoon Yutu relief. Donations can be made until December 31 by texting the following to HELP (4357):

            GIVE1 to donate $1

            GIVE5 to donate $5

            GIVE10 to donate $10

Funds raised will go to the American Red Cross to help rebuild the lives of those affected in Saipan and Tinian.

We faced the most destructive natural disaster to hit our islands in recent memory and many of our people have been left with almost nothing. The road to recovery will be long and challenging, but as a community working as one, we can rebuild the Marianas stronger than ever. Rose Soledad, CNMI General Manager for IT&E

Helping families stay connected as they work to plan their next steps is a priority for IT&E.

IT&E has extended the October and November payment due date for all CNMI accounts to November 30, 2018.  Suspension has been postponed to November 30, 2018 as well.

Charging stations are in operation at IT&E’s Chalan Laulau store for residents to charge phones and mobile devices. The IT&E Chalan Laulau store is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Guam’s associates have also personally donated water, non-perishable food items, toiletries, batteries, containers, and other necessities to be distributed to fellow associates in Saipan and Tinian. IT&E shipped a container full of the donations to the islands on October 31, 2018.

The CNMI stands as a symbol of strength and resilience. It is inspiring to see our communities unite through compassion and determination. We continue or commitment of solidarity as we work to provide the needed support to our neighbors, loved ones, and colleagues. Danny Daniel, Senior Manager of Brand and Public Relations

IT&E will continue to find ways to help the people of the Marianas recover.
