IT&E Recognizes CNMI's Favorite Teacher

IT&E presented Ms. Dayoung Han from Hopwood Middle School with the IT&E Favorite Teacher Award.

IT&E held a social media contest to give the community the opportunity to share their appreciation for teachers and reflect on the impact teachers have on the lives and development of our youth.

Han teaches 8th grade science and has been teaching for 2 years.

I love meeting students, making small talk and getting to know each of them better. Dayoung Han, teacher at Hopwood Middle School and winner of the IT&E Favorite Teacher Award

In addition to the title of Favorite Teacher, she also received a massage for 2 and a $100 gift certificate for school supplies.

"I was very surprised when students emailed me to tell me that I won. I'm thankful they thought of me and nominated me," Han said.

The contest was held simultaneously in Guam. Mrs. Andrea Mayoyo-Buan of Tiyan Middle School won the title of Guam’s Favorite Teacher.

With our Favorite Teacher contest, we wanted to commemorate our islands’ teachers and their dedication to our children, as well as give our community the opportunity to show their appreciation for their teachers. We received thousands of nominations in the CNMI and Guam. We’re heartened to see so many students and members of the community support the educators in our community. Rose Soledad, General Manager of IT&E

The contest was launched on World Teacher’s Day on October 5. The nomination period was held from October 5 to 12.
