IT&E donates tablets to patients at Guam Memorial Hospital

IT&E donated 10 Samsung Galaxy tablets with 4G LTE data service to the Guam Memorial Hospital Authority for patients who are in isolation. These patients are awaiting COVID0-19 results or have been confirmed positive and are in need of observation or critical care.

The tablets will be used to provide safe face-to-face communication between patients and their physicians, nurses and caretakers, as well as with family members that are not allowed in the isolation wings.

“When GMHA reached out we were eager to help any way we could to alleviate some of the anxiety the patients and their families experience being separated and to help our medical staff provide the best care they can, while saying safe enough to continue to care for others. Our hearts go out to the patients and their families and we wish them a speedy recovery.”

Jim Oehlerking, CEO of IT&E

The retail value of the devices and service is $7,500.

IT&E remains committed to helping flatten the curve of the spread of COVID-19. Strict sanitization and social distancing measures are in place at its open locations in Harmon and AAFES.  IT&E launched the Stay Home Challenge to further encourage residents to stay home and to share photos and videos of how they are social distancing for a chance to win the latest Samsung Galaxy device. Details can be found on IT&E’s social media pages.

In addition, IT&E has implemented several relief measures for its subscribers. On April 5, 2020, IT&E announced it is removing data caps for its subscribers until April 30, 2020. This allows residents to stay updated, keep up with online classes and school assignments, and stay connected to work. In addition, IT&E has pushed back the due date for bills, so that subscribers can pay anytime during the month without late fees.
